The location was excellent, next to metro, shops and seafront, and local transport and shopping. Besides, I explored Acorn Community Church approx 10-15 minutes' walk from the hotel.

It was fairly clean and the staff were really helpful, beds were comfy. The room was rather extremely pleasant and good-sized, I liked it. Gorgeous and excellent breakfast included coffee and cereals.

large room, nice window, good bed, great english breakfast, attentive flexible staff, only 250 meters from the metro station. newcastle can be easily reached by metro within 35 minutes. whitley bay / esplanade lodge is a good starting point for beach walks or excursions to destinations such as the tynemündung, by bus.

Very comfortable guest house, owner very friendly. Nice clean room with big en-suite, plenty of room for a family. Very nice breakfast and very easy access for the Metro. Recommend for seaside visit or ease of access to Newcastle, Sunderland and Gateshead.

No complains at all, I can just recommend this hotel to anyone. The breakfast is great, includes a huge variety of meals. The rooms are lovely and beautiful with en suite shower, alcove bathroom, as example. Staff is good and you can park your car on street.

The location was great and magnificent, just a short walk from St Pauls Parish Church and downtown. Our king room was airy and modern. The staff were accommodating, and we had a relaxing and good value for money weekend stay.

They allowed dogs so we were able to take our puppy with us. The breakfasts were good.

Could do with more bedside lamps for reading. A notice on how to turn the shower off in room 4 would have been useful.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Esplanade Lodge and would definitely return. The standard room with an alcove bathroom provided a comfortable and peaceful sleep. The location was perfect, as it was very central and close to both the town center and the seafront.
